Team Nigeria's women 4 x 400m relay team edged out of the podium

Team Nigeria's 4 x 400m relay team came 6th in the final of the relay. Nigeria who stuck to the team that came 2nd in the semis (Patience George, Bukola Abogunloko, Omolara Omotoso and Regina George) could only muster a time of 3:27s. Home favorites Russia took the gold medal, USA came second and Great Britain finished third.
