Football:Saturday Review ---- Arsenal up to third after late rally against Norwich

Arsenal came from behind with three late goals to seal a crucial victory against Norwich City and move up to third place in the Barclays Premier League.

Norwich looked on course to completing a league double over the Gunners after Michael Turner had headed his side in front on 56 minutes. But, after they had twice hit the woodwork through Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski, Arsene Wenger’s charges were awarded a penalty with six minutes remaining, which was converted by Mikel Arteta.
Two minutes later Arsenal took the lead when Alex Oxlade Chamberlain broke down the left and his centre was deflected over the line by Sebastien Bassong, under pressure from Giroud. In added time, Podolski made sure of the points with a firm strike from a Theo Walcott cut-back. The Londoners move a point clear of Chelsea, who have a game in hand, and Tottenham Hotspur, who do not.
Everton are three points behind fifth-placed Spurs after completing a 2-0 victory against relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers. Darron Gibson gave David Moyes’s side the lead five minutes before half-time with a deflected strike before Victoe Anichebe doubled the hosts’ lead on 56 minutes.

Elsewhere both Southampton and Aston Villa were held at home to 1-1 draws by West Ham United and Fulham respectively. Andy Carroll’s deflected free-kick midway through the second half cancelled out Gaston Ramirez’s opening goal for Southampton, while a 66th-minute Fabian Delph own goal prevented Aston Villa from securing three points against Martin Jol’s side, who fell behind to Charles N’Zogbia’s opening goal on 10 minutes after the restart.

Elsewhere Reading moved level on points with QPR and are seven points from safety after sharing a goalless draw with Liverpool at the Madejski Stadium.
