Barcelona celebrate La Liga title with parade through the streets of Catalunya

Barcelona have paraded through the streets of the city to celebrate wrestling the Spanish title back out of Real Madrid's hands.  Their greatest rivals only held the title for one season as Barca, widely and understandably considered the finest side of all time, made easy work of finishing first for the fourth time in five years.

And the club effectively revealed today that the fans can look forward to further success.

New contract: Barca forward Gerard Deulofeu is to extend his stay with the club
Wonderkid Gerard Deulofeu, according to the club's official website, is to sign a contract extension on Wednesday to keep him at the club until 2017.

'Gerard Deulofeu will continue to be a Barcelona player through to 2017,' a club statement read.

'The club and the player have agreed to terms to extend the contract linking the two parties through June 30 of 2017. The player’s buy-out clause is set at €35 million (£29.6m).'

Passionate following: The club's fans turned out in huge numbers to celebrate their latest triumph
'The player will sign his new contract on Wednesday at 18.00CET.'

Famed for their incredible youth academy, La Masia, Barca have predicted Deulofeu could become one of their finest products yet.
They are thought to hope to one day include him in their already potent front three alongside Lionel Messi, their key man, and possibly Brazil's Neymar, one of the most sought after players in the world.

Great achievement: Coach Tito Villanova battled throat cancer earlier in the season to inspire his team
If, as expected, he does become a crucial player, Deulofeu will be the latest to follow in the footsteps of Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique, Victor Valdes, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and more to graduate from La Masia and into the first team.

Vying for selection in their front three alone, Pedro, Isaac Cuenca, Cristian Tello and Messi are just four to excel in that position having taken similar steps to Deulofeu before him, and his new contract will give him every chance of being the latest.
