Gareth Bale wins bid to trademark heart goal celebration and shirtnumber

Gareth Bale has trademarked his goal celebration

Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale has reportedly been successful in his bid to trademark a logo that features his heart-shaped goal celebration, which could make him up to £3 million a year.

The Welsh star is set to cash in on his growing global fame after reportedly trademarking his goal celebration and shirt number.
Last month Wales Online revealed how the 23-year-old, from Whitchurch, Cardiff had applied to protect his iconic “heart” celebration in a bid to join sport’s rich-list elite.

According to media reports,  Bale has now successfully trademarked the “Eleven Of Hearts” - a step that could net the Welshman more than £10m a year.
Bale has been linked with an £85m move to Real Madrid this summer, which would catapult him into the same league as Bernabeu favourite Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo earns over £13m a year in endorsements.

Bale already gets around £2m from adidas and has also signed up as a pundit for BT next season, when they will start screening Premier League football.

But his heart ‘logo’, featuring his shirt number 11 at the centre, is set to raise his market appeal around the world.
