Iniesta saves Albacete from relegation with £200,000 injection
Albacete is a Spanish club that plays in the Segunda division, they were in the LaLiga as recent as 8 years ago. The cash strapped institution has found it difficult to pay its debt and have received relegation threats from the Spanish authorities.
Fortunately, the club gave birth to Andres Iniesta - the Spanish and Barcelona midfielder spent years at the club before joining Barcelona as a 12-year-old in 1996.
The 29 year old has gone on to save his first club from relegation by stumping up £200,000. He started his career at the Segunda Division B side and ensured they would not be demoted to the fourth tier of Spanish football.
Iniesta is the largest shareholder at the club and injected £400,000 into the club two years ago.
