The Miami Heat Stage An Epic Comeback, Beat The Spurs In One Of Best NBA Games Of All Time

The Miami Heat beat the San Antonio Spurs 103-100 in overtime in Game 6, forcing a Game 7 on Thursday in Miami.

It was one of the most amazing games in NBA history.

Miami looked dead in the water twice.

They were down 10 points to start the 4th quarter, but LeBron James took over and gave them back the lead with 3 minutes left. They were also dwn 5 points in the final minute, but they got two clutch 3-pointers in the final 20 seconds of regulation to force overtime.

Magic Johnson called it one of the two or three best games ever on the ESPN postgame show.

That's hard to argue with.

Here's everything you missed:

San Antonio were up 10 points to start the 4th quarter. But Mike Miller lost his shoe, hit a wild 3-pointer, and sparked a Heat comeback early in the quarter

A few minutes later, LeBron lost his headband. He left it off, and took over the game. He ended up with 32 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds.

Miami were down 95-92 with 5 seconds left. After Chris Bosh got an offensive rebound, he kicked it out to Ray Allen, and Allen sunk a miracle contested 3-pointer to force OT.

In overtime, the game slowed down considerably. The Spurs turned it over on three of their final four possessions:

It was 103-100 in the final seconds when Danny Green had a look at a 3-pointer, but Chris Bosh blocked it at time expired

Ultimately, it was Ray Allen’s game-tying three-pointer in the final seconds that sent the game to overtime and allowed James to be remembered as a hero and not a failure, even if he only had one basket in overtime.

It's funny how being picked up by a teammate can change a personal story line.

Still, it was James’ ability to take over the game that lifted the Heat to a Game 7 and the opportunity to win a second consecutive title. When LeBron James watches the Game 6 tape of his fourth-quarter performance, he will see what it takes to create a legacy as an all-time great.

If he plays as he did in the fourth quarter for an entire Game 7, the Heat will undoubtedly be crowned champions once again
