Reports popped up this morning about Manchester United rejecting Chelsea's 10 million pounds + Luiz or Mata for wantaway striker Wayne Rooney.
This cynical rumor has been a subject of ridicule all day as tweeters have since come alive following the revelation, with "Mata for Rooney" trending on the microblog and most of the reactions have been simply hilarious.

However the people in Chelsea have denied making that kind of offer and have blasted Manchester United for in-confidentiality.
"The terms of [the Rooney] offer are confidential but for avoidance of doubt," the club wrote, "the purchase does not include transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United."
