Love in Britain! Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn go on an open date during British open practice round

At the U.S. Open, Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn opened up about her relationship with Tiger Woods, particularly the golf part.

“We talk golf after his golf rounds, but mostly I listen,” Vonn told the New York Times. “We really are normal in that way. Lots of people go home and talk to their wife or husband about their job. That’s what we do.”

Having a good time: Vonn was laughing loudly as she wandered around the course after Woods

This morning, Vonn, who is recovering from reconstructive knee surgery after a horrific skiing accident in February, took it a step further. She was on the course with him as he prepared for the British Open, which begins Thursday at Muirfield Golf Club in Guillane, Scotland.

Bored? She did take some time to sit down as Woods messed around with actually playing the golf

Vonn has been a constant presence at Woods’s tournaments since the couple went public with their relationship in March. It’s a bit unusual to see a significant other on the course, but, as Vonn told the Times, she isn’t just any significant other.

“Some people seem to forget that I’m not just Tiger’s girlfriend,” Vonn told the Times last month. “I’m actually a successful athlete. I’m Lindsey. I have my own career and my own life.”

Vonn was inside the ropes along with Sean Foley, Woods’s swing coach, and his caddie, Joe LaCava. Maybe the extra support will help Woods rebound from disappointing performances in the Masters and U.S. Open after a sizzling, four-victory start to 2013.

Woods, who says he is healthy again after being bothered by a strained elbow at the Open, will be a late starter Thursday. Still the No. 1 player in the world, he’ll begin pursuit of his 15th major championship  in a group with Graeme McDowell and Louis Oosthuizen. That’s some eight hours after the tournament begins.
