Sporting Lisbon Fans Attempt To Kidnap Bruma In Order To Prevent Him Joining Chelsea

Bruma has been linked with a move away from Sporting this summer after catching the eye last season and enhancing his reputation with a string of sparkling performances for Portugal at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

However, events have now taken an ugly turn with his agent quoted as telling the Portuguese press that members of a Sporting supporters' group tried to kidnap the player.

Bruma is reportedly now keen to terminate his Sporting contract and the matter will now be handed to FIFA to adjudicate on, with that process potentially taking a couple of months.

Bruma's agent Catio Balde is quoted as telling Antena 1: "We have pressed charges. This is a very serious and unpleasant matter, and it led to this decision."

Bruma's camp could now look to begin negotiations with other clubs regarding a move, and there is thought to be a lot of interest in signing the teenager.

Manchester United and Porto have been linked with Bruma, but it is Chelsea and Galatasaray who have already submitted offers, according to Balde.

While Chelsea's proposal is reportedly only worth €2million, Balde says the Turkish club have tabled a considerably more sizeable bid.

He said: "I was in charge or presenting offers to Sporting. There are offers from foreign clubs, from Chelsea and from Galatasaray, worth €8million that could reach €12million."

On Bruma terminating his contract, Balde added: "From this moment on, considering that he is a highly-coveted player, it is possible that more offers will arrive, because I know that several clubs were waiting for the best moment to make a move."

On a potential exit, he concluded: "Right now, Bruma's mind is not on Sporting."
