NADAL EDGES DJOKOVIC IN MONTREAL THRILLER, FACES RAONIC IN FINAL

Rafael Nadal of Spain celebrates at the men's Rogers Cup (Reuters)

World number 4 Rafa Nadal defeated the best tennis player on the planet Novak Djokovic 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 at the Rogers Cup in Monreal. As we anticipated, the match was always going to be a thriller and it lived up to expectation as both tennis legends threw everything at each other but somebody just had to give in.

This was their 36th career meeting with Rafa extending their Head to Head to 21 - 15 but Djokovic still maintains a 11-6 on hard court, Nadal holds marks of 13-3 on clay and 2-1 on grass.

Nadal will next meet Canadian and home favorite Milos Raonic where a win for the Spaniard will see him win his 25th masters 1000 series and eventually rise up to 3rd in the Fly Emirates ATP rankings.
