WAG OF THE WEEK: ADAEZE YOBO

Part of our mandate on this blog is to let y'all know about the delectable WAGS (Wives And Girlfriends) of your favorite Athletes... Sportunes will be a breeding ground for WAGS as these beautiful women are often scooped up by some of the worlds finest athletes. 

Many vault from being previously unknown to becoming household names as we have seen in Andy Roddick and  Brooklyn Decker. While some probably made the athletes household names like we saw in Kim n Kris. Some 'equally' shine bright like diamonds alongside their athletic spouses like Mr n Mrs Beckham.

The lifestyle of a professional athlete is stunning already so when these guys get to go home to some of the worlds most beautiful models, forgive us if we don't shed a tear for them. 

Our WAG of the week goes to;

Adaeze Yobo





Adaeze Yobo is a 23 year old model and WAG of Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo. She is also the step-daughter of former football player John Fashanu as her mum Abigail is married to the former England International. Infact both Adaeze and mum can be referred to as footballer WAGS (this should be a record).



In 2008, Adaeze realized her childhood dream by being crowned the most beautiful girl in Nigeria,She represented Anambra in the pageant defeating 29 other girls. Apart from winning five million naira, a Hyundai car and endorsement deals, The Akwa-Etiti native represented Nigeria at Miss World 2008 in South Africa. She made the top twenty in Miss World Talent and placed second in Miss World Sports.

However her most important recognition was to come in 2011 when Bleacher Report, the 4th largest sports media site in the US ranked her 92nd in a list of 101 Sexiest Soccer Wives and Girlfriends.

The Magazine reported: 'Her world not only revolves around soccer, but soccer seems to revolve around her as she consistently flaunts her sexiness in front of the camera. A unique beauty'.


 She also attended a short course at the New York Film Academy.









Adaeze  and Joseph Yobo started dating in December 2009 and one should expect that 'when the most beautiful girl in a country starts dating the most influential player in that country, Paparazzi should suffer' but that's not been the case with these two love birds as they are one of the most conservative celebrity couple around. They even had a low-key wedding ceremony in 2010 after Joseph Yobo married the former MBGN winner in a midnight ceremony held in Jos.







The couple however welcomed a baby boy named Joey Yobo in April 2010.
