After Lindsey Vonn Suffers Crash In Training, She Faces Race Against Time To Participate At The Olympics

Reigning Olympic downhill champion and Tiger Woods WAG - Lindsey Vonn has crashed while training ahead of her return to racing following major knee surgery.

U.S. Ski Team spokesman Tom Kelly said Yesterday that Vonn is being evaluated at a hospital after being taken off the slope at Copper Mountain, Colo., on a sled, which is standard procedure.

Kelly said he is not sure whether Vonn hurt her surgically repaired right knee (She tore the ACL and MCL in her right knee and fractured her tibia in a brutal crash in February).

With 78 days until the opening ceremony of the winter games in Sochi, there were fears the Olympic skier will be forced to miss out, but those fears have been allayed today when her publicist revealed that she will only rest for a few days. However, the 29 year old will "pursue aggressive physical therapy, which will determine the next time she is able to compete after seeing how she responds to the treatment," said a statement released by Lewis Kay, her publicist.
