PHOTOS: Ghana Stands Still As Chelsea’s Michael Essien Buries Dad In Style!!

The mortal remains of James Essien, the late father of Chelsea and Black Stars player Michael Essien, have been laid to rest.

Micheal Essien who lost his dad a couple of months ago gave his hero a befitting burial in front of a fully packed crowd which included  present and past Ghanian footballers such as Abedi Pele and his wife Maha, Stephen Appiah, Augustine Ahinful amongst notable government personalities and dignitaries.

The ceremony took place over the weekend in Awutu Breku, the part of the Central Region where Essien comes from.
