Yaya Toure Involved In Twitter Fight With Former City Player

Staying put: Yaya Toure has been forced to deny Rodney Marsh's claim he is unhappy at Manchester City

Yaya Toure who is on international duty with Ivory Coast  has become embroiled in a Twitter row with Rodney Marsh to deny claims by the former Manchester City favourite that he is unhappy at the club.

Marsh, 69, claimed on talkSPORT that Toure’s body language in City’s defeat at Sunderland last weekend backed up information he has received that the Ivory Coast midfielder has grown unsettled at the Etihad Stadium.

He said: ‘People close to Manchester City tell me Yaya Toure is not very happy and he’s one of their great players.

‘When you start to hear rumblings from within the camp, and you see the way Toure played last weekend when he was strolling around and didn’t look interested, I’m wondering now if it will all go a little bit the other way.

‘It looks like they’re throwing billions of pounds at players but keep coming up short. I think this season could end in tears at Man City.’

Marsh’s claims sparked an exchange between the two men on Twitter with Toure posting a photograph of himself with brother Kolo in Casablanca with the message: ‘Hey buddies, don’t listen to the rumors, I’m happy at city..the Toure brothers are in Casa and are missing Manchester.’

Marsh defended himself when challenged to back up his comments by angry City fans, tweeting:

Toure responded again, saying: 'Out of respect for my fans and my club!! How can I be unhappy when i get so much love and respect from everyone in city?

‘I want you to give me a good reason to be unhappy at MCFC! Enjoy Florida and stop distracting us, we have objectives here!!!’

Rodney however gave up so easily. lol
