Painting the town red... again! United stars put Chelsea defeat behind them with night out in Manchester

Ten of Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United squad hit the town on Sunday night despite their 1-0 defeat by Chelsea.

United were well off the pace as Juan Mata's strike saw them lose their second home game in three matches following the loss to Manchester City in April.

But with the title having been sewn up after the 3-0 win over Aston Villa last month, United fans are bound to excuse their team a few more celebratory drinks.

Stars - including Robin van Persie, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra - headed out to Ferdinand's Rosso restaurant before heading to the Panacea club.

Among the players out was Ashley Young, who was pictured on crutches as he recovers from an ankle injury.
