HAPPY BIRTHDAY : Paul Allen, César Azpilicueta, Bojan Krkić

Paul Allen

Paul Allen is 51 today. He should not be mistaken for the American billionaire as he is a former English player who had over 700 senior appearances during his career. At 17 years and 256 days old, Allen's appearance for West Ham United against Arsenal in the 1980 FA Cup Final made him the youngest player to appear in an FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, though James Prinsep played at a younger age at Kennington Oval in 1879. Both records have since been broken.

César Azpilicueta

César Azpilicueta is 24 today. He is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right back for Premier League club Chelsea.

After playing three seasons in La Liga with Osasuna in whose youth system he grew, he represented Marseille in Ligue 1, winning four major titles with the French club.

Azpilicueta has represented the Spanish national team at all levels playing for the U 16, U 17, U 19, U 20, U 21, U 22, U 23 and the senior side making a total of 64 appearances in the process.

Bojan Krkić

Bojan Krkić is 23 today. He is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward or winger in the Dutch Eredivisie for AFC Ajax on loan from FC Barcelona. He has represented both the Spanish national team and the Catalonian regional team. Bojan is the youngest Barcelona player to feature in a La Liga match and also the youngest Barcelona player to score in a La Liga match.

Bojan scored his first ever Champions League goal on 1 April 2008 (at 17 years and 217 days) against Schalke 04, making him the first person born in the 1990s to score in the Champions League and the second youngest player ever, behind Ghanaian forward Peter Ofori-Quaye, then playing for Olympiacos, who scored at the age of 17 years and 195 days. Bojan finished the season with a record of 10 goals, breaking Raúl's record of most goals scored in a debut season.
