Best Of European Football Leagues Season 2013/14

The Football League Season is now in full flesh for us to all enjoy, and for our numerous sports and European soccer fans, Sportunes is here to unfold all the events that took place in the other major leagues in Europe.

RUSSIA
The Moscow derby ended 3-0 in Spartak Moscow's favor as they beat Ahmed Musa's CSKA Moscow to move top of the Russian Premier League.

Aras Ozbiliz opened the scoring for the hosts in the 40th minute, and two further goals in seven second-half minutes from Dmitri Kombarov and Sergei Parshivlyuk sealed the win leaving defending champions CSKA with their first league defeat.

After their mid-week UEFA Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid, former Arsenal forward Andrei Arshavin's Zenit bounced back with a league win as they cruised to a 4-0 win away at Rostov.

The Luciano Spalletti side broke the deadlock six minutes after the half time break through Danny after which Andrei Arshavin,Hulk and Viktor Faizulin all got on the score-sheet to give Zenit a deserved victory.

Locomotive Moscow also kept themselves within touching distance of the top three of Spartak, Zenit and CSKA who all are locked on 20 points after nine games with a 3-1 over Dinamo Moscow.

Dame Ndoye opened the scoring for Locomotiv early in the 2nd half, but their lead lasted 8minutes as Christian Noboa levelled for Dinamo Moscow.

Dinamo player Douglas was sent off after conceding a penalty, and up stepped Alexander Samedov to put his side back in the lead.. A Sergey Tkachev third goal secured the win for Locomotive Moscow.

Rubin Kazan were handed 2-1 shocker at home by Tom Tomsk.

Salomon Rondon had opened the scoring for Rubin, but Alexander Ryazantsev's red card changed the game.

His dismissal led to Kirill Panchenko converting a penalty. Tom Tomsk had to wait until the closing minutes for Maksim Bordachev to find the back of the net handing them three valuable points.

In other games,Russian side Terek Grozny dropped to the foot of the table as they lost 1-0 to Krasnodar, courtesy of a Pavel Mamaev's 14th minute strike which was enough to get all three points and leave Grozny chasing their first win this season.

Former club of Chelsea forwards Samuel Eto'o and Willian - Anzhi are still searching for their first win after they fell to their fifth defeat of the season against Volga in a 2-1 away defeat.

Volga raced into a two-goal lead inside the opening 21 minutes, but visitors Anzhi pulled a goal back,but were unable to find another goal to take a point from the game.

Elsewhere,Kuban Krasnodar fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Amkar Perm,and Krylya Sovetov drew 1-1 with Ural.


DUTCH EREDEVISE:(NETHERLANDS)

Dick Advocat's PSV Eindhoven went top of the Eredivisie with a crushing 4-0 home victory over champions Ajax on Sunday.

All PSV's four goals came in a 15-minute spree in the second half,which all started from Tim Matavz's strike.

Jetro Willems, Oscar Hiljemark and Ji-Sung Park all found the net in quick succession as the hosts cruised to victory to maintain their unbeaten record in the division, opening up a two point lead over PEC Zwolle who lost 3-0 Loss to Vitesse, with Chelsea loanee Piazon scoring a brace, a third goal from Kelvin Leerdam wrapped up the three points for the fifth placed club.

Elsewhere,a Tonny Vilhenna's goal gave Feyenoord a 1-0 win over Utrecht as they climbed to eighth,while NAC Breda completed a quartet of home victories with a 3-0 win over AZ Alkmaar.

Danny Verbeek opened the scoring for NAC,before Rydell Poepon doubled the lead later, Elson Hooi added gloss to the scoreline in stoppage time to seal a victory that moves NAC up to 12th in the League.

PORTUGAL:

Defending Champions FC Porto winning start to the Portugese Primeira Liga season came to an end after a 2-2 draw with Estoril. Manager Paulo Fonseca's team seemed to be on their way to a 5th consecutive league win until Luis Leal of Estoril struck to share of the spoils.

Lica had opened the scoring for Porto,but the lead didn't last long as hosts Estoril were awarded a penalty minutes later. Evandro stepped up and calmly slotted his spot-kick past Helton.

Jackson Martinez's strike just after the hour mark then looked to have won the game for Porto, but Leal's late strike meant it ended in a stalemate.

Porto's biggest Rivals Benfica took advantage of the defending champions slip up as they bagged a vital win over Vitoria, courtesy of a 73rd minute Oscar Cardozo strike.

In other games, Nacional sent Academica to their 3rd defeat in the opening five games with a 1-0 victory at Estadio da Madeira, goal coming from Nacional player Mario Rondon.

FRANCE(LIGUE 1):

A Radamel Falcao equaliser made Monaco remain top of Ligue 1 to earn a 1-1 draw with defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG opened the scoring early at the Parc des Princes through swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic,only for the Colombian to level for the leaders later in the first half.

A pretty decent end to end game had to end with both sides sharing the spoils which maintains both teams' unbeaten starts to the season;but with PSG manager Laurent Blanc feeling awkward about the game,due to the loss of captain Thiago Silva who limped off with a hamstring injury.

Elsewhere, Lyon ended a run of four games without a win with a 3-1 victory over Nantes at the Stade Gerland, but had to come from behind to take the points after Jordan Veretout gave visitors Nantes the lead.

Bafetimbi Gomis equalised for the hosts with his first goal of the season,followed by Arsenal's summer target Clement Grenier's perfect free-kick goal before Jimmy Briand sealed the points with a close range header.

Nice continued their strong start to the season with a convincing 4-0 win over second-bottom Valenciennes.

Dario Cvitanich penalty,Eric Bautheac,Christian Bruls and Alexy Bosetti goals confirmed the three points hence condemning opponents Valenciennes to a fifth successive defeat.

Other fixture's had Lorient come from behind on two occasions to take a point against Bordeaux as the sides shared six goals at the Stade Yves Allainmat.

Cheick Diabate opened the scoring from the penalty spot for Bordeaux,then Vincent Aboubakar who gave away the penalty equalised;only for Gregory Sertic to put Bordeaux back in front again.

Henri Saivet made it 3-1 on the half hour mark,but Lorient did well to fight back,with Kevin Monnet-Pacquet and Sadio Diallo strikes to give them a hard-earned point.
