Marcel Desailly is 45 today. He is a retired Ghanaian born French footballer and star of the France national football team squad, with whom he won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000. He also enjoyed a distinguished career at club level with several major European clubs most notably Ac Milan and Chelsea. Desailly who is currently residing in Ghana is considered one of the most accomplished players of the game and one of the best players of the past two decades, having won virtually every major team award.

Briana Scurry is 42 today. She is an American retired soccer goalkeeper. Scurry was the starting goalkeeper for the United States women's national soccer team at the 1995 World Cup (3rd place), 1996 Summer Olympics (gold medal), 1999 World Cup (champions), 2003 World Cup (3rd place), and the 2004 Summer Olympic Games (gold medal). She played in the semi-final and playoff for third place in the 2007 Women's World Cup (3rd place). She was a founding member of the WUSA, playing three seasons as starting goalkeeper for the Atlanta Beat (2001–2003).

Her career total of 173 international appearances is the most among female soccer goalkeepers. It is also the tenth most of any American female player, and the twentieth most among all women.

Emre Belözoğlu

Emre Belözoğlu is 33 today. He is a Turkish football midfielder who plays for Fenerbache. Having also played for clubs like Galatasaray, Inter Milan, Newcastle United and Atlético Madrid, Emre has been a part of the Turkey national team at the 2002 World Cup and at Euro 2008 among other tournaments. Pelé named Emre in the FIFA 100, a list of the 125 greatest living footballers as a part of FIFA's centenary celebrations.

Vera Zvonareva

Vera Zvonareva is 29 today. She is a Russian professional tennis player and was introduced to the sport at the age of six, turning professional in 2000. Her career high is WTA World No. 2 in 2010 but she's slipped all the way to World No. 221 after missing in action for the last twelve months due to injuries. Zvonareva has won twelve WTA Tour singles titles and reached the finals of the 2008 WTA Tour Championships, 2010 Wimbledon Championships, and 2010 US Open. She also was a bronze medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Aleksandra Wozniak

Aleksandra Wozniak is 26 today. She is a Canadian professional tennis player. She turned professional in November 2005. Wozniak achieved a career-best ranking of no. 21 on June 22, 2009, making her the third highest-ranked Canadian singles player of all time. She has won one WTA and nine ITF tournaments. At the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford in 2008, she became the first Canadian in 20 years to capture a WTA singles title and is the only Quebecer in history to have accomplished such a feat. She reached a career-high ITF junior ranking of No. 3 on January 31, 2005. She was named Female Player of the Year by Tennis Canada five times (2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2012).
