Saturday Special.. A Quick recap of all the matches that took place in the English Premier League today

Chelsea 2 0 Fulham

A rarity: John Obi Mikel stretches to score his first goal for 258 matches

Mourinho is not to be blamed for Mata's woes, the Portuguese has stated categorically that Oscar is his Number 10 and the little Brazillian once again vindicated his boss ingenius decision by finding the back of the net yet again. So if theres one person to be blamed for Mata's woes, then that person must be Oscar dos Santos Emboaba JĂșnior, because if he keeps up this level of football he's currently playing, I'm afraid Mata's days in Chelsea are numbered.. Tick Tock.. And somebody should please pinch me, Mikel Scored! people been ranting about End times, is this another sign? Vincent Enyeama still has more career goals than him tho.. (HERE)

Liverpool 0 1 Southampton

Off target: Daniel Sturridge show his anguish after missing a chance

Over to Anfield as we Welcome Liverpool to the 2013/2014 Barclays Premier League season. The Merseyside club lost at home to Southampton in what is assumed to be a shocker, judging by the standards they have so far laid down this season . But if that defeat occurred anytime last season, it wont even make headlines, because that's just what Liverpool is all about... but the good thing is that, their 'Vampire' striker will be available again after seeing out the last of his ten game ban in the Liverpool box today

Westham 2 3 Everton

Unstoppable: Jussi Jaaskelainen (below) had no chance of keeping out Baines' free-kick

My man of the day has to go to Leighton Baines, like seriously... Who scores two free kicks in a football match? Baines joins Larsson, Rooney and Ronaldo as only players to score 2 FREE KICK goals in single Premier league match since 2008/09. Infact Since that same season no player has scored more direct free kicks in the Premier League than the English left back (6)... Another guy that caught my eye today was Romelo Lukaku, The Belgian came off the bench to score the winner.. That goal by the way was his 13th league goal since January. A statistic better than the combo of Torres and Ba who have just 12 goals between them since the start of the year.

Newcastle 2 3 Hull City

Eyes on the ball: Hull's Sone Aluko keeps the ball away from Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa

Aluko, Aluko, Aluko.. Sonnie Aluko has to be the next President of Nigeria. My Jand friends keep famzying the guy just because he represented England at various age-group levels and his elder sister Eniola has made over 70 appearances for the England women's foootball team, but he's ours, he's a fully blooded Nigerian... He absolutely showed what the Nigerian spirit is all about today as he netted a thrilling winner for Hull City in their come back win over the magpies. So its up to Keshi to give him his first international cap since like forever.

WestBrom 3 0 Sunderland

Stephane Sessegnon

Never bite the fingers that fed you!! Sessegnon was having none of that as he scored a fantastic debut goal against former club Sunderland. The goal set Westbrom to their first win of the season, hence heaping severe pressure on the Black cat's swagalicious boss Di Canio, who recognised the soup he's in and immediately proceeded to meet the Sunderland fans after the game, to beg for forgiveness of sins.

Norwich 0 1 Aston Villa

Crucial: Libor Kozak scores to hand Paul Lambert a vital win over his former club

In the early kick-off, Aston Villa earned their second victory of the season with a 1-0 win at Norwich City. Libor Kozak got the only goal, shortly after coming on for an injured Christian Benteke. The win just highlighed the relevance of Transfer deadline day, Kozak came into Villa at the last possible moment, that is to say, if we have no deadline day... Villa would have drawn the match today and possible face relegation.. #Justsaying.
