Aguero and Pochettino claim Barclays awards




Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero and Southampton head coach Mauricio Pochettino and have been rewarded for impressive recent performances by winning the Barclays monthly awards for October.

Argentina international Aguero, who receives the award for the first time, scored four goals in three Barclays Premier League matches during the month, including a double strike away at West Ham United.

The 25-year-old's compatriot, Pochettino, who took over at Southampton in January, collected the Barclays Manager of the Month award for guiding the south-coast club up to fifth place in the table at the end of October.

Saints picked up seven points from their three Barclays Premier League matches with wins against Swansea City and Fulham and a memorable draw away at Manchester United.
