Nigeria Make History in UAE As They Are Crowned Champions Of The World

Nigeria – Yes, Yes, Yes!

Glory Glory Nigeria!! The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria  have made history in Abu Dhabi, where they defeated El Tricolors of Mexico three goals to nil in the FIFA under 17 finals. The 'Giant of Africa' now stand alone on the all time list with their fourth trophy in the competition history, adding to the inaugural trophy in China 85, Japan 93 and Korea 07. Its also their first outside the shores of Asia.

The first goal came from a classic counter attack with three eaglets to beat one defender, before the young Mexican finally succumbed to pressure by putting the ball in his own net. Nigeria could have extended the lead as they missed chances upon chances, with the ever-present Nigerian fans singing the famous 'all we are saying, give us more goals'. They duly obliged midway through the second half via Silver boot and Golden ball winner Ihenacho who scored a simple tap in to the delight of the partisan crowd .  Man of the match Musa Muhammed put the icing on  the cake with an audacious free-kick, at that point there was no denying the Golden Eaglets a Golden victory.

Nigeria who were feared for their attacking prowess through out the competition, scored an unprecedented 27 goals during the three weeks festival, a feat that's never been done by any nation. Nigeria also picked up the fair play trophy as they are officially the most successful country in the history of the amateur championship.
