Cristiano Ronaldo to boycott Ballon d'Or ceremony

If we are to believe reports coming out of Spain today, then its a pity we are not going to have Cristiano Ronaldo at the FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony in January.. According to Spanish publication AS, the Portuguese ace will boycott the prestigious Zurich event due to breakdowns in relations between him and the world governing body FIFA in recent weeks.

The 28-year-old's icy relationship with FIFA stretches back to accusations that they favoured Lionel Messi by handing him four straight Ballon d'Ors between 2009 and 2012, and FIFA boss Joseph Sepp Blatter recently helped strengthen those claims when he publicly showed support for Messi while also mocking Ronaldo as a player who spends to much money 'at the hairdressers' during an appearance at the Oxford Student's Union last month (HERE).

Although Blatter who also mimicked Ronaldo as an army general swallowed his pride and duly apologised to him, but when the Madrid star sarcastically wrote on facebook after the whole drama : 'This video shows clearly the respect and consideration that FIFA has for me, for my club and my country', i knew apology wasn't accepted.

AS also claim Blatter is seeking private talks with the super star, but Ronaldo is not willing to listen and won't meet the 77-year-old, and although he's now11/4 to scoop the illustrious prize for the best player of the year award, he will still go on to execute his perfect revenge plan by not attending the ceremony in Zurich.
