What happens when an unstoppable object collides with an immovable object? Well that was the situation between the two best players in the world - Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as they headed to the LaLiga awards ceremony which held in Madrid. Although Messi won the best player award for the fifth year in a row, an inaugural award however was invented for Ronaldo who bagged the the MVP gong that recognises "the player who has had the most impact on his club, both on and off the pitch".
An overexcited Ronaldo took to instagram to share the moment with his three million followers as he thanked everyone of them for supporting him all through. Ronaldo captioned: 'Hey guys, it's an honour and a privilege to receive the award of Liga de FĂștbol Professional Most Valuable Player of 2012/13. Thanks for the support.'
Other winners included Ronaldo's Real team-mates Sergio Ramos who also gave us an instaphoto, Asier Illarramendi and Iker Casillas as Andre Iniesta won the best attacking midfielder and Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone beat Tito Vilanova and Jose Mourinho to the Best Coach prize.
