Gonzalo Higuain requires TEN stitches on his face after falling on ROCK

Italy Soccer Napoli Higuain

Former Madrid player Gonzalo Higuain slipped on some rocks when he was disembarking from the yacht he was on during a visit to the island of Capri.

On one of his days off, the Napoli man took a quick trip to the island of Capri, and was unfortunate enough to slip and fall over, causing an injury to his face, mainly around the jaw area. Sources at the Italian club said that the injury sustained by Higuaín was not serious, so he should return to Naples as early as this Monday where he'll be supervised by his club's medical staff.

The player was immediately taken to the Capilupi hospital on the small Italian island, where his injuries required ten stitches, eight of them around the jaw area. An x-ray was also taken to rule out any fracture.

"He's in great condition and he'll already be able to leave the hospital today", said Dr. Mauro Ingrosso from the Capilupi medical centre, according to reports in the Italian media.

"However, I don't know if (Spanish coach Rafa) Benítez will use him this coming Saturday in the (league) game against Verona", he added.

Higuaín arrived at the medical centre on Capri, an island found a few kilometres off the Naples coast, with a cut to the left side of his jaw, which is where most of the stitches were applied, along with another two applied to the area around his cheekbone.
