Former Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese says he has been offered contract with WWE
From football to professional wrestling? That sounds like an unlikely career shift. However, that is exactly what has happened to former German keeper Tim Wiese.
Wiese no longer plays for his club Hoffenheim, after his contract was terminated in January, but now has been offered a contract to work with WWE.
The 32-year-old former keeper has turned bodybuilder and now weighs over 250 pounds. He has claimed that WWE has offered that he join their Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) developmental territory. In FCW, amateur wrestlers get trained before they are moved to the main WWE rosters such as RAW and SmackDown.
"I have an official enquiry from the WWE," Wiese said to a German tabloid.
"It's about working for them as a wrestler. I will listen. I don't s**t my pants. Why should I immediately say no? Wrestling is very popular, especially in the United States.
I will go through the enquiry with my agent next week," said Wiese.
Wiese would ideally have to spend a year in FCW before WWE considers promoting him to their main roster.
