Relax Gunners!!! Ozil isn't winning you any trophies.

Mesut Ozil

Throughout the summer, Arsenal fans have been irritated and upset with Wenger due to his failure to sign his reported targets. First it was Gonzalo Higuain, then Luiz Suarez and more comically Wayne Rooney. The Frenchman was window shopping as vigorously as an excited teenage girl. It was amusing really. Wenger's only buys were Yaya Sanogo, a relatively unknown striker from France and old player Mathieu Flamini who was released by Milan. Most Arsenal fans had given up, until transfer deadline day. First it was goalkeeper Marc Viviano then Arsenal and Arsene Wenger shocked the entire footballing world by announcing the signing of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for a club record fee of €47 million. It was a shocker!!! Arsenal fans trooped out to celebrate their marquee signing and some fans would have felt their 'In Wenger we trust' banner was finally justified. The Frenchman must have felt a big signing would have appeased his club's angry fans. He was right. However sorry to burst your bubble gunners but signing Ozil aint winning you trophies.

The stake is worth $500,000, which works out to 1/15th of 1% of the team.

While Jay owned a tiny sliver of the Nets, he was central in the team's branding once it moved to Brooklyn. He reportedly helped design the jerseys and the luxury boxes at the Barclays Center.

This is Kidd's first coaching job after retiring in June.

Club forfeit match to protect young players from ‘mental anguish’

Bulgarian third division club Shumen have refused to play top flight Chernomorets Burgas in the round of 32 of the domestic cup to protect their young players from mental anguish.

Shumen were drawn against the Burgas-based side on Tuesday but club president Georgi Georgiev decided there was no need for his team to play against such strong opposition.

"In order not to burden mentally our young boys, the team refuse to participate in the Bulgarian Cup," Georgiev told local media soon after the draw took place in Sofia.

The first leg of the tie was due to be played on September 18 and the return leg on October 23.

The Bulgarian Football Union is expected to give Chernomorets, who are third from bottom in the top division, a walk over although they have not yet made any official comment.

Shumen were once in the top flight and even played in the UEFA Cup in 1994 after finishing fourth in the standings.
